When McLaren Automotive heard that the team at Finlay & Co. were taking a road-trip from London to Florence for menswear show Pitti Imagine Uomo, they made us on offer we couldn't refuse.
With the keys to a McLaren 650S Spider in hand, we set off from Loseley Park, nestled within the English countryside, to begin the road-trip of a lifetime. The journey to and from Florence, Italy, encompassed driving through a total of 10 different countries, stopping off to visit a few friends along the way.
To kick off the journey we made a short film with the help of our friend Paul Akinrinlola and his new drone. Follow our journey by clicking below on one of the images.
Loseley Park, the historic manor house situated just outside of Guildford in Surrey, provided the perfect backdrop to a very British start to our journey. The Grade 1 listed property was built in the 16th century. It is a majestic location, steeped in history with panelling in the great hall originally belonging to Henry VIII's Nonsuch Palace. Open to the public, the estate also offers extensive grounds with exquisite gardens, tea room and barn.
As we drove into the romantic city of Florence, the narrow, terracotta-tinged streets became our new playground. By day we exhibited our new collection at Pitti Uomo, watching as the world's best-dressed men poured into the show, posing for photographs with the fashion media around the square outside. By night, we indulged in steak and gelato, drinks along the Arno river and partying within the piazza's.
